An update from CBC's Elders

Dear CBC Family,

Here are the most recent developments regarding scheduling and services here at Community Baptist. Due to our Government and the health expert's recommendations, we will be moving to an online only service format for the next few weeks. This will mean that there will be no physical services here at our campus. If you are unable to watch online please contact myself or John Nelson (contact info below) and we will get you squared away to participate in our weekly gatherings.  We do so from the recognition that this call to suspend meeting in groups is not persecution against our Christian faith but rather a reality of common care during a unique and limited time. If it progresses to anything more than that, we will address it at that time. Here are the things to know for the immediate future:

  • All non-corporate gatherings are suspended as well. This would mean things like Sunday School, 3Ts Bible Study, Missions Committee, youth events, etc…are suspended for the next few weeks.
  • Wednesday night gathering for March 18 is canceled, with no physical or online servicesthis week, but I am asking you to pray at 6:30 tomorrow night for several specific things.
  1. Please continue to pray for wisdom for our Nations leaders in the decisions they are making and needing to both now and in the future.
  2. Please pray for our medical personnel as they will be likely facing exhausting schedules for the foreseeable future.
  3. Please continue to pray for the individuals and communities already infected with COVID-19.
  4. Please pray during this situation that our Lord's Name would be made great in the midst of this Global pandemic.
  5. Please pray for your church family that we might be a light for the Hope we share, which is Christ, here in our local community specifically.
  6. Please pray for our foreign missionaries during this season of struggle as they are facing unique challenges as Americans in a different country, and many are facing more significant danger from this virus in the countries where they are serving.
  7. Please pray for wisdom for your shepherds, as they seek to honor the Lord and lead His people in doing the same.
  8. Please pray for our services as these are unusual times, but we know our Lord is able to raise up praise from the rocks, and He is most certainly able to receive praise from His people, and care for their needs through this.

  • Our video/audio services will be available online at the regular times on Sunday at 10:30am and 6:30pm through our website

To access Livestream, click here right at the time of the service: https://livestream.com/cbcstuartlive

For easier accessibility to Livestream and Mixlr, on your phone or Smart TV, downloading the Livestream and/or Mixlr app is recommended.

Services will still be posted (within 6 hours of service ending) to our YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/communitybaptistchurch , if you wish to share with loved ones.

Please do all that you can to tune in during these times, and here are a few reasons for encouragement regarding your faithfulness to tuning in will help maintain our strength in the Lord. Additionally:

  1. This will promote our gathering as a body, even if separated by space; We will be gathered and unified around the service all at the same time, experience, and the same worship.
  2. This also promotes and protects the habit of gathering together at these specified times going forward till we will be able to do so again.

In closing, please know that the gathering together of His people is one of the sweetest gifts our Lord has given us and you are deeply missed during this time by all but even as our normal practices are disrupted, our God is able to care for His people. So please continue to do and be who you are... those who remember to “NOT SIN AND BE FAITHFUL” in all things, as we serve the Lord even in a pandemic. Please also know that we continue to stand ready to serve and the needs of the flock and those needs will continue to be met. If you have a need please contact myself or John Nelson personally and we will labor to serve you in whatever it is, be it prayer, spiritual counsel, or physical need. Please do not hesitate to make us aware. Our God's character is proven and having confident faith in Him, can and will face whatever the days ahead hold!
